Diplômée de l’École Nationale Supérieure de la Photographie d’Arles et de l’Université Paris 3- Sorbonne Nouvelle, Anaïs Wulf vit et travaille entre Paris et le Vercors.

Photographe inspirée par la littérature et les arts visuels, elle explore différents univers picturaux, régulièrement revus à la source d’un nouveau dialogue, réel ou imaginaire, avec un écrivain, un plasticien, un chorégraphe ou un artisan d’art.

Marquée par une blessure à l’œil gauche dans l’enfance, elle entretient dès son plus jeune âge une curiosité particulière pour les accidents optiques, des déformations visuelles concrètes aux transformations de champ plus abstraites. Après des études de lettres, elle se tourne en 1994 vers la photographie et intègre Arles. Lors de la 28ème édition des RIP (Arles), elle participe à la création de la galerie Voies Off et rencontre à cette occasion Antoine d’Agata, qui inspirera ses premiers travaux personnels. Elle voyage en Afrique, en Amérique du Sud, en Russie, à Sarajevo, au Japon, collaborant avec de nombreux collectifs. Depuis quelques années, son travail sur le portrait s’est enrichi d’une réflexion sur la matière, matière brute ou transformée, étreinte mystérieuse entre une nature morte, un corps et une trace lumineuse.

Anaïs Wulf formerly graduated from the École Nationale Supérieure de la Photographie (Higher National School of Photography in Arles and from the Paris3-Sorbonne Nouvelle Paris University. She is now sharing her life between Paris and the Vercors area.

As a photographer her sources of inspiration are drawn from literature and visual arts. She explores different pictorial universe, which are systematically revisited, so as to recreate a new dialogue, be it real or imaginary, with a writer, a visual artist, a choreographer or craftsman.

A wound in her left eye left a mark on the peculiar curiosity she has whown since her early childhood for optical alterations, from real visual distortions to more abstract changes in the field of vision.
She first started studying literature then moved on to a Photography Degree at the Higher National School of Photography in Arles in 1994.
During the 28th exhibition of the Rencontre de la Photographie in Arles she partook to the creation of the Voies Off (Off Tracks) Gallery. There she met Antoine d’Agata whom she drew her inspiration from for her first personal works.
Then she travelled to Africa, South America, Russia, Sarajevo, Japan where she collaborated with numerous artists collectives.
For some years, her works on portraits have been fed and enriched by a new reflection on material either raw or processed ones, an unfathomable embrace between still life, a body and a luminous mark.
